Needle mat is one kind of non-woven glass fiber products that is made of diverse size and form of glass fibers that are needle-felted in sheets. Material is needle punched to create monolith blanket in a required thickness.
Needled mats are excellent non-woven products for the insulation market, which are made from 3 different glass types: E-glass 600°C, HR-glass 800°C and SiO2-glass 1000+°C. Each glass type is providing its own specific qualities.
Glass fibre needled mats are environment-friendly, recyclable, and incombustible, excellent insulators therefore commonly used in insulation structures for piping, refineries, heating infrastructure, automotive and many other areas. the mat is used for high heat and fire resistance barriers.
Needled glass fibre mats with thermal resistance of 600ºC are made of alkali-free alumina borosilicate E-glass fibre yarns with a filament diameter of 6 to 13 µm and a length of the cut fibre of 30 to 100 mm without any bonding agent.
Due to the incombustibility of glass fibre, glass fibre mats can be used as heat insulating materials in applications up to 600°C. More often, glass fibre mats as heat and acoustic insulating materials are used in industries such as follows:

A mechanically cross-linked glass fiber insulation blanket of uniform density supplied in thicknesses of 6.34mm (1/4”), 1.27cm (1/2”), 1.90cm (3/4”), and 2.54cm (1”) that offers reliable, superior performance for temperatures up to 649°C (1200°F).

*All four HardTape glass mat styles have extremely good fire resistance and are incombustible, have negligible moisture absorption, but will experience up to 2% weight loss at continuous use a 1200oF (649oC).
High Temperature Silica and Glass Mats for Industrial Insulation up to 1800F
Silica and Glass Mat are often incorporated into multi-layer pads and blankets designed for industrial insulation applications like improving the operational efficiency of heat processing equipment, conserving energy, protecting workers from hot pipes and machinery, and reducing noise pollution. The primary difference between these two types of heat resistant mats is that Glass Mat is a stronger and more durable option while Silica can withstand higher temperatures.
HardTape’s Glass Mat products are comprised of needled E Glass fibers, a glass composition recognized for its strength and heat resistance. Glass Mat can withstand temperatures up to 1200°F / 650°C and is available in a variety of thicknesses, ranging from 6.5mm to 50mm. Glass Mat is sold in full rolls only. A full roll ranges from 30 to 100 meters long of material, depending on the style selected.width from 90cm to 150cm.
Silica Mat can withstand even higher temperatures than Glass Mat due to its high-silica composition (greater than 94% SiO2), withstanding temperatures up to 1800°F / 980°C. However, the increased temperature resistance comes at the cost of reduced strength. Available in 6.5mm, 12.7mm, or 25.4mm” thicknesses, Silica Mat is sold in full rolls only. A full roll ranges from 30 to 100 meters long , depending on the style selected.

Acoustical Curtains
HardTape Shield acoustical blankets are designed to absorb sound to reduce noise. Most often, our fiberglass fabrics and mats are used to control sound and noise in industrial, manufacturing and construction areas, however, they have also been used in a variety of private, residential and commercial settings. While properly installed sound blankets and curtains will noticeably reduce noise, they will not eliminate it entirely.
