Braided (BR) and Twisted (TR) Silica Ropes are used primarily as packing for high temperature sealing applications
The dense construction and higher strength of our braided silica rope holds together extremely well at elevated temperatures. Ideal for use in applications that require improved handling properties and thermal performance. Application temperature up to 1800°F (982°F). our Silica Rope is extensively used in the Power Generation, Furnace, Oven, Refinery, Construction, Shipbuilding, Welding, and Metal Processing industries.
Potential applications include: furnace door gaskets, core for tadpole gaskets, seals for casting molds, packings for electric transformers, continuous casters, coke oven doors, and boilers.
The twisted construction is a lower cost silica rope option ideal for those applications that do not require improved handling properties and the operational environment is not that severe. Application temperature up to 1800°F (982°C). our Silica Rope is extensively used in the Power Generation, Furnace, Oven, Refinery, Construction, Shipbuilding, Welding, and Metal Processing industries.
Potential applications include: furnace door gaskets, core for tadpole gaskets, seals for casting molds, packings for electric transformers, continuous casters, coke oven doors, and boilers.
The silica rope diameters from 6.5 to 35mm.
Fiberglass Rope is commonly used in high temperature packing and sealing applications involving hot air, steam, water, fluids, or gases. Fiberglass rope is conformable and durable, resistant to most acids and alkalis, and won’t shrink, stretch, or unravel. Our Fiberglass Ropes are made by plying together and twisting or braiding the same highly texturized premium fiberglass yarns used to weave fiber glass Fabrics.
Braided vs. Twisted Rope
our Twisted Fiberglass Rope is a conformable and economical product used for sealing boilers and oven and furnace doors, including those with uneven surfaces.
Our Braided Fiberglass Rope is stronger, denser, smoother, and more stable than twisted rope. It is used in packing applications that require greater resistance to compression and mechanical wear.
Temperature Resistance
Our Fiberglass Ropes can both withstand operating temperatures up to 1000°F / 540°C and peak temperatures up to 1300°F / 700°C.
Any Fiberglass Rope can be treated with our proprietary Vermiculite Coating for additional temperature and abrasion resistance. The coating works to dissipate heat across the surface of the rope so that it can withstand operating temperatures up to 1300°F / 700°C and peak temperatures up to 1500°F / 815°C.
In addition to the products described here, we can also manufacture custom treated or untreated fiberglass ropes. Minimum order requirements apply.
Our glass fiber rope diameters from 6.5mm to 25mm.
All of our Fiberglass Ropes are asbestos-free and manufactured according to relevant rules.
